In Semester 1, the course focuses on laying the foundational
knowledge and skills necessary for understanding quantum
computing. Students explore fundamental concepts such as qubits,
quantum gates, and basic quantum algorithms. Through these topics,
students strengthen their physics, math, and computer science
skills.
Semester 2 builds upon this foundation by exploring near-term
quantum computing, delving deeper into advanced topics and
practical applications of quantum computing, including an
understanding of quantum hardware and current applications.
Additionally, Semester 2 introduces students to the mathematical
underpinnings of quantum computing and explores advanced topics
such as quantum networking, sensing, and machine learning. The
semester culminates in a Capstone Project where students apply
their knowledge and skills to showcase their understanding of
quantum computing concepts.
