Veterinary Assistant Certification

This 100-hour program introduces participants to the exciting and growing field of veterinary medicine. Participants learn about the care of animals as well as how to recognize signs of illness and disease. Topics include interpersonal communication, interaction with clients and their animals, and how to assist the veterinarian during examinations. Administrative duties such as fee collection, banking, and accounts payable are also covered to provide the participant with the skills necessary to maintain an efficient front office. Participants learn through classroom instruction and hands-on labs. Textbooks included in tuition. NWCA National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Veterinary Assistant (VET) Exam.

NOTES:
Prerequisite is High School Diploma or equivalent.
