FAA Drone Pilot Certification Training

An offering by Metropolitan Community College

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released new regulations requiring anyone flying or operating a small unmanned aircraft system (drone) under 55 lbs. and for commercial and hobbyists purposes is required to be a FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Keeping on top of the continuously changing regulations is the law. It is imperative for all drone users from children to adults to full-time professional drone pilots to keep up with the regulations. All drone pilots are required to register their drone and to have proof of passing a knowledge test with them any time they fly a drone. This 14-hour course provides the participants with in-depth training on all aspects of the FAA Part 107 knowledge concept rules and regulations needed to safely fly drones. We provide access to DJI Phantom and Mavic Series sUAS for the class. Course Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to Drone Pilot Training, plus FAA requirements for exam are 16 and older, a U.S. citizen and be able to read and speak English. Price does not include the license exam fee, which can be purchased through several local testing centers.

NOTE: Must be 16 to register.
