The Science of...Animal Architects

An offering by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Skyscrapers, apartment complexes, and condos are pretty neat when you look at all the architecture behind them. And I don’t know about you, but I could not build my own home! But, many animals in Nebraska are their own architects, building unique homes that not only look nice, but also protect them from predators, the elements, and often house their families. So, how do they do it? There’s no blueprint, no design book, nothing, they simply grab what they can find and start building. In this episode we will talk about different animals that build their own homes; beavers, spiders, bees, birds and many more. What materials do they use? How do they do it without arms and legs, drills, and nails? Join us and find out!
