Totally Cool Math and Science Combo 3 - 4

· Grades 3 – 4 ONLY

· Cost: $200

· This is the same camp offered each time.

Experience being inside a bubble! Begin to explore the exciting worlds of Science and Math through sound, light and color! Make tessellation t-shirts. M&M Math, bubbles, pitch, mirrors and color top the list of activities. Solve puzzles and play with time. Play Egyptian Baseball! Make oobleck and get MESSY!

Antarctica: Science on Ice!

· Grades 4 – 5

· Cost: $190

Antarctica: the coldest, windiest, driest place on Earth! Learn about the major Earth systems: atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere and biosphere. Find out what’s with all the ice. Explore Antarctica!

Astronomical Adventures 4 – 5

· Grades 4 – 5

· Cost: $200

Build and launch a rocket! Learn about planets, stars and moons in the Mallory Kountze Planetarium. Study solar activity with large telescopes on our rooftop observatory. Compete in the Great Balloon Race and much more!

Practical Math

· Grades 4 – 5

· Cost: $200

The purpose of this camp is to present fun and practical applications for mathematical problem solving and programming using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, online applets, coding and a variety of games. Create and develop a sales plan for your own candy bar. Campers will work collaboratively to explore Math creatively.

Understanding Electricity

· Grades 4 – 5

· Cost: $200

Investigate the concepts of energy and electricity using snap circuits, experiments and activities. An Omaha Public Power District expert visits to discuss electricity basics. Put your knowledge to the test and electrify a city using Micro:Bits!

Adventures in the Chem Lab

· Grades 6 – 8

· Cost: $210

Helium, hydrogen, oxygen…. Things blow up! Things freeze! Watch chemical changes and make a polymer. Screaming gummy bears and ice cream in an instant are mysteries to solve in the Chem Lab.

Dynamic Earth

· Grades 6 – 8

· Cost: $200

Investigate the earth and our interactions with it. Use maps and computers to learn about unique landscapes. Explore geography with activities such as an afternoon of GEOcaching and mosaic maps and creating your own island with contour lines. A Geography Bee rounds out the week!

EV3 III: Connect to the Future (Must have taken EV3 II and I)

· Grades 6 – 8

· Cost: $200

King of the Hill, racetrack time trials and Robo Challenge are among the unique challenges and competitions campers will encounter in EV3 III! Campers will use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to control LEGO Robots. Explore functions and switches not used in previous camps as well as discuss radio waves and infrared communication.

Micro:Bits - Python Coding

· Grades 6 – 8

· Cost: $210

Campers will code Micro:Bit processors using Python language. In Java Script, they will drag and drop blocks of code to program their Micro:Bit to respond to light, motion and temperature.
