The High School Internship Program is a PAID internship and pairs 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with an IS&T faculty mentor. For eight weeks, students are immersed in a mentored research project and learn new research concepts, tools, and skills. This year, projects will focus on website development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, software development, virtual reality, robotics, and the metaverse.
The High School Internship program runs from June 7st – July 28th. During this time, interns are required to work 20 hours per week in the Peter Kiewit Institute. Days and times will be coordinated with the faculty mentor. Students will be required to submit weekly progress reports and submit a midterm formal report. The program culminates with intern presentations during the celebratory reception.
