Union Pacific's Technology department is looking for interns to help our core business groups achieve their vision and business objectives by applying technology to improve their processes, systems, and services. You will build knowledge and experience with Union Pacific's technology environment and development processes.

Union Pacific's Technology department is looking for interns to help our core business groups achieve their vision and business objectives by applying technology to improve their processes, systems, and services. You will build knowledge and experience with Union Pacific's technology environment and development processes As a Summer Intern, you will build knowledge and experience in our core business groups and their vision, business objectives, processes, systems, and services. The intern will have extensive contact with peers and interaction with senior leaders. There will be opportunities to put your leadership, technical skills, and business knowledge to immediate use through high value project assignments. Internships available in core department business groups may be determined by business need.

Accountabilities

  • Learn and perform core department business group work tasks, processes, and customer services
  • Perform administrative support for department business group managers
  • Develop and execute project action plans and perform team assignments
  • Build and strengthen a network of professional contact within departments and across the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with project management for various company initiatives and complete administrative tasks and special projects

Qualifications

Required

  • College credits equivalent to one (1) year or more toward an undergraduate degree
  • Basic organization AND prioritization skills
  • Basic time and project management skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee will spend extended hours in front of a computer screen

Work Conditions

  • 18 years of age or older
