Speakers Series
The 2013 AIM Institute Speakers Series sessions focus on the impact that innovation, marketing, cloud and management – have on businesses. Sessions begin in February in both Lincoln and Omaha. Cost Per Session:
AIM Members – $15
Non-Members – $40
Current Session:
February 27th, 2013 – Omaha – 7:30am-8:30am (Gallup); – Lincoln – 3:30-4:30 (Lincoln Tech Park)
“Managing a Virtual Business: The Challenges and Opportunities”
Scott Grausnick, president and founder of Harbinger Partners, Inc., offers a unique perspective on the benefits and challenges of running a virtual business. He has grown his own company, Harbinger Partners, in St. Paul, Minnesota, into a successful and profitable virtual company with over 100 employees. Harbinger Partners has won Minnesota’s “Great Places to Work” award 10 times. In 2008, Scott bought Bass & Associates, a traditional brick-and-mortar IT consulting firm in Omaha, and successfully transitioned the new company into a virtual environment. In his presentation, Scott will share his insights on the corporate culture and foundation of a successful virtual company, converting an existing “brick and mortar” company to a virtual company and the challenges presented in operating a virtual company.
Pam Stene-Hagge, director of business development for Bass & Associates will also share what the transformation was like from the employees’ perspective. She will discuss how to maintain productivity and communication with your team in a virtual environment and also share information regarding personal work/life balance challenges and rewards when having an office across the hall, instead of across town.
