AIM Achiever Scholarship
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Education through previous grants, AIM Institute developed the AIM Achiever Scholarship. This scholarship awards $4,000 to selected eighth-grade students from area middle schools to encourage them to finish high school and pursue a college education.
By awarding these scholarships in eighth grade, this scholarship provides motivation for academic achievement in high school and beyond. The result of the AIM Achiever Scholarship: 100% of scholarship awardees graduate from high school and 88% go on to postsecondary institutions. Their peer group’s graduation rate falls under 70% with a postsecondary attendance rate of 28%.
Federal funding has expired; however, the AIM Achiever Scholarship has been so successful that we have committed to sustaining it. Further direct funding for more scholarships is needed. We must expand our investment in these students, for in doing so, we invest in an American workforce of the future that will continue to excel in the world market.
Join us in helping motivated students strive for greater academic achievement in high school and pursue a college education. Corporate or individual support of an AIM Achiever provides a $4,000 scholarship to be used for education beyond high school graduation. Sponsorship can also provide opportunities for internship, mentoring or job shadowing as the Achiever progresses through high school and college.
Please make a tax-deductible donation to the AIM Achiever Scholarship – help youth in our community graduate from high school and go to college.
Scholarship applications are now open. The application deadline is March 29, 2013.
